What Moves You? Fear or Love?

I (Kim) think we can all agree that “exercise” is healthy (to a certain extent). What we don’t all agree on is why we do, or do not choose to exercise. One of the first questions that I ask my clients is why they want to do yoga. “I want to be healthier.” “I want to lose weight.” “I heard it can help me overcome pain.” “I want to de-stress.” These are all answers that I usually hear, and they all sound like good reasons to start a yoga practice! “85% of the word EMOTION is dedicated to movement!” says MET’s founder, Marcel Daane. After taking the Movement Efficiency Training course in April, I have been looking at movement and working with my clients differently. MET’s approach is based on neuroscience. M.E.T. Training This Weekend in NYC

From total beginners who have never worked out a day in their lives to pro athletes, M.E.T. offers endless regressions and progressions for each fundamental exercise. In addition to fundamental exercises, there are three zones and endless ways to Read more…

M.E.T. comes to the U.S.A.

This video is of a recent M.E.T training.  Kim-Lien Kendall, co-founder of SMARTer Bodies, was there and you can see her working hard in the long-sleeved, grey t-shirt. Who doesn’t want to be able to pump out push ups with one leg in the air the way she does?! But if you can’t it doesn’t matter, because M.E.T. offers endless regressions that can get you to that point. So it works for everyone. If you are interested there will be a Movement Efficiency Training certification class held May 27th in NYC, hosted by the Integrated Performance Institute. But sign up Read more…
